Pame sto Waterpark!

Now, the summer school started… Meaning that we can chill a little bit more, and enjoy the sun and the water. We are going to the beach, of course, but we are also going to an amazing place: Fasouri, the waterpark.

There, you can find crazy slides, amazing rivers, and a lot of other funny activities. We have there a lot of fun, and sometimes, quite scary moments in the Kamikaze or the canons! The learners can do a lot there : for those who are not afraid, trying the attractions, for the other, chill in the water andenjoy the sun, and the burgers of course…

Children’s day in Primary school

Today was the children’s day. For the occasion, we were invited to perform the play in a primary school. A great moment of sharing. After the play, the kids showed us their own artistic activities. They also had prepared some questions for Prosvasi’s learners, such as : what is your favorite food? What are you doing in Prosvasi? Which games do you like? Christos, Andreas, Kiriakos, Miroula… They were all very happy to answer and to share something personnal with those kids. They all went, after a nice breakfast offered by the school, to play together in the yard.

Prosvasi is now a Choir

The music workshop took a new dimension since few weeks… We began to make a real choir!

We are singing different songs, and prepare them for the final celebration : Agapi sa ton pou karkia, Yellow Submarine, and the prosvasi’s song (entirely invented by the learners).

With Agnes and Willy as lead singers, Yellow Submarine is making the guys more familiar with English. And some of them loves to change the lyrics in something else….

We have now to write a melody for prosvasi’s song, and we will be a real band…

Recycling and planting!

Our volunteer’s workshop of the last two weeks was about using materials that can be recycled by planting flowers and herbs inside.

After a small explaination about what recycling is, why we are doing it and how, we started decorating some plastic glasses to give them a new life.

One week later, we used those beautiful creations to plant flowers. We also planted some herbs, Mint and Basil, in paper pots (using toilet paper rolls).

We hope that something will grow, let’s see…

A barbecue at Governor’s Beach

It’s been five times that we pospone our barbecue party, so last Sunday we decided to go, whether it’s raining or snowing. We were on this wonderful place, only white stones and sea…

But of course, because this is what always happens, after half an hour of great wheather and a short swim, the clouds started to come closer and closer… We cooked the meat as quick as possible, ate under a rock waiting for the rain…

And left the place at the exact time it started raining! Lucky in our bad luck..

Gardening Workshop : transform Prosvasi in a great green place

Agnes and Denisa are helping Theano and the learners to build a great Garden at the back of Prosvasi. A very long and intense work… especially under the cypriot sun!

Claire’s theater Project

From this week, Claire started to animate a theater workshop every afternoon, with Anna’s help. Seperated in 3 groups, the learners will work on imagination, oral expression, body, memory and emotions. They will create some short texts themselves, and try to “act” it as much as possible. Every week, a new step in the workshop will be reached.

This week, we worked with the voice : trying to deal with our voice, change it, modulate it to create a character… and being heard and understood!
